For this bag you will need:
First cut two rectangles of your outer fabric to whatever size you would like for the finished bag (remember to allow 1cm all round for seam allowance and a little extra at the top to allow for finishing the seam)
Cut two rectangles of the lining fabric approximately 1cm shorter at the top than the outer material and measure the length you would like for the handles (also allowing an extra 1cm each end for the seam)
Next put the outer pieces right sides together and sew round the edges and bottom seam. Do the same with the lining.
Turn the outer section right side out and put the lining (still inside out) inside. It should sit about 1cm lower than the top edge of your outer piece.
Fold the top edge of the outer fabric over twice to give a neat edge. This should now cover the top of the lining piece. Work out where you'd like the handle to sit and tuck the ends under the seam and pin in place.
Sew around the whole top seam to hold it all together and you're done :-)
